First Fun Cruise by
Joseph S from Cape Coral, Florida Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: The food and service Cons: Jamaica The ship was clean, the food was good and abundant, the staff was beyond expectations and I would definitely recommend this ship to anyone. Ship QualityThe ship was very accessible to all and the cleanliness was totally satisfactory. Dining/FoodOur dining room matre'd even had a Indian dish put on the menu one night as per our request and our servers couldn't do enough for us. I recommend buying the 3 bottle wine deal which allows nice wines for dinner every night for a reduced price. Stateroom QualityHad a balcony that was great to wake up with coffee and end the day with a cocktail Ship Staff QualityI can't say enough about the great service of all the staff Entertainment & ActivitiesFrom the pools to the gym a great way to work off some of the abundant food as well as shows, dancing and the casino, loved them all 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Most incredible time! by
Shannon A. from Miamisburg, Ohio Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: It was our first time with a balcony room on a cruise and must say we will never cruise without the balcony again. Our entire experience was wonderful. The room was great, staff was fun and friendly, and of course we met incredible people on this vacation. Our room was at the back of the ship (recommended by priceline) and was a great spot for us. Above of was the adult only pool and bar, below us was our main dining room for evening. We will cruise for sure with Carnival our next time as well for #3. Ship Quality

  Great Cruise by
Dianne from Kansas City, KS Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: The food and staff were wonderful Cons: The entertainment was not very 'family friendly'. The ship was very clean and quite well kept. Ship QualityVery good layout. Some areas were, however a little tricky to get to. On some decks we needed to go up or down a deck to get from one end to the other. It took a few days to figure it out. Dining/FoodThe dining room food was sensational. The deck on the lido deck was very good, as well. Stateroom QualityVery good. You don't expect lots of room in a stateroom on a ship, but it was adequate. Pleanty of storage room. Ship Staff QualityEveryone was very friendly and helpful. Our room was always clean, the waiters were wonderful - they called us by name by the second night of the cruise. They even remembered that I drank coffee after dinner every night. Entertainment & ActivitiesNot very family friendly. I didn't stay for the entertainment in the main lounge. The costumes were very revealing. The jokes were a bit 'off color'. I did not attend any of the 'adult only' events.

  Great first cruise! by
Garrett R. from NYC Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: Shore excursions were top notch. Our room was nice and spacious. Cons: Not that into the broadway style shows. Pools could have been larger. Well this was my first cruise. I traveled with my fiance and we've never been on a cruise before. I can honestly say the ship was in great condition and the accessibility of the food was great. We ordered room service a few times and had breakfast come to us for a few of the days. The TV's in the room were a bit dated but then again I doubt you go on a cruise to watch tv in your room. The ship was of a decent size and we were impressed by the scheduled dinners. They were top notch. My fiance even ordered the lobster TWICE in one night and they brought it without so much as a peep.
Our first night was spent exploring the ship and trying to get a feel for what type of activities were available. We didn't spend much time in the main lounge where they had singing and dancing and shows of all sorts. We were just not into it. The main bar was beautiful and the piano player was a nice touch. The other bars here and there were also sufficient. We aren't heavily gamblers but playing the slots in the ship's casino was great. I even ordered a drink from a floating waiter that brought it to the slot machine I was playing at (just like Atlantic City!).
Our second night (our fun day at sea) we went to the ships spa and gym area and though we didn't use the spa it seemed quite lavish and pampering. The gym was sufficiently equipped and the view of open glass all around gave the gym a spectacular (if slightly nauseating) view. The lunch/dinner buffet was adequate and the breakfast was a great way to start our day.
By far the thing we enjoyed the most this cruise were the shore excursions. Our first destination was Grand Turk and we spent that day on a Catamaran that took us out into the ocean where we went snorkeling. This was my first time and it was a great experience. I've never felt so at peace with nature as I viewed marine life as an active participant and not someone staring at it apart behind thick aquarium glass. Afterwards we were treated to unlimited drinks (careful it's easy to drink too much rum) at which point the catamaran took us to a private beach area with beautiful sand and temperate water. It was great j7umping straight into the deep end and swimming ashore.
Half Moon Cay was beautiful. The sand was fine and doughy and the water and beach itself were picturesque. We snorkeled here as well and were privy to close up reaching reef areas flourishing with coral and beautiful marine fish. Again we had a spectacular time.
Our final day was spent in the Bahamas where we enjoyed the amenities of the Atlantis Resort. By this time we were pooped and we spent this day relaxing ashore. We went to the resort beach and although beautiful in it's own right, it did not compare to Half Moon Cay.
All in all we had a splendid time and are looking forward to our next cruise. In the end we found our ship small and lacking in activities we were specifically interested in but the seaside theatre was great. Being outside under the stars at night was a beautiful experience too. The ocean was beautiful in the daytime and we spent a bit of on ship time staring at it. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and are already planning our next cruise. It looks like this might be a bi-annual event for us. Carnival is a great way to go. Our ship was packed and lines were a bit long but that's to be expected where free food is concerned. I highly recommend this cruise line to anyone considering a cruise. Ship Quality

Grand Turk Islandsnorkeling is a must, access to the private beach was brief but totally worth it... did I mention there was free rum?
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)This is the real gem of the cruise. Best beach hands down
Don't Miss: I snorkeled here as well. You don't really have to do much but lay out in paradise. Nassau, BahamasDon't Miss: atlantis resort was great 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

A cruise for younger adults by
Paulette B from Margate, fl Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: The entertainment Cons: The noise, the waiting on line for breakfast and lunch. The drunk adults. This 4 day cruise is great for a young adult who loves to get drunk. The adult only pool was not adhered to. They were doing belly flops into 4 feet of water. Finally security came and told them to stop. We had to wait in line for breakfast and lunch. The food was boring. Sit down dinner was good. Presentation and service good. Entertainment was good. "Horrible Cruise" by
NEETU W from FL Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: Can't think of anything Cons: Food I am a regular cruiser with Carnival's competitor but this was my first Carnival cruise. I was extremely excited, as anyone would be going on vacation after a long year of hard work. We were a party of eight, some of us first time cruisers, and some cruised before. I was very disappointed with the overall experience of Carnival. The staff was not as friendly as other cruises Ive experienced. I felt like they were not happy being there and didnt care that we were there. I was extremely disappointed with the quality and selection of the food. Almost the same things repeated at dinner and the quality of the food was very poor.
The private island we docked at in the Bahamas was the worse. The walk from the pier to the barbecue was a long and difficult walk due to the dense sand. Lets just say it wasnt worth it and we were better off staying on the ship.
At the end of the cruise, I was mostly disappointed when Carnival automatically added a $50.00 per person gratuity onto my bill and then had the nerve to place an envelope in my cabin. I thought gratuity was voluntary not demanded. Frankly with the type of service provided by the bartender at dinner I would not have given him anything because he was the most unfriendly person. I would say because of the experience with Carnival I would not travel with a carnival ship again and neither would I recommend this cruise line to my friends. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodQuality and choices of food poor Stateroom QualityIt was ok. Ship Staff QualityUnfriendly! Got the feeling they didn't want me there. Entertainment & ActivitiesNot bad!

Grand Turk IslandThis was a waste of time. All the hype to get stuck at a restaurant right at the pier. Of course if you wanted to go explore the island you had to pay for an excursion. Does not compare to Nassau. A waste of time!
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)This was certainly a waste of my time. The walk from the pier to the barbecue area was long and the sand was dense which made the walk seem ever harder in the hot sun. I would have stayed on the ship if i knew it would be such a struggle to get to the ocean. The food at the barbecue was tasteless.

Skip the boat....stay at an island! by
Kevin W. from Northern Kentucky Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: The islands the personable staff. Cons: The prices and the lowsy management and disrespect of management. The islands of Grand Turk and of course Half Moon Cay were amazing. The bar staff and most of the deck hands were polite and helpful. We had a few unavoidable issues with our 6th deck balcony cabin (flooding from neighboring cabins, eletrical problems) that were not addressed properly by managment and promies were not followed through on. Met great people at dinner, but other eating arrangments and management disrespect were a turnoff for any possibility of returning. The island of Half Moon and its gorgeous beaches and water were worth the price of admission, but this is basically a racket outside of that. Oh well, I don't regret it, but I would never promote it.... Ship QualityFunny smells from floor to floor and section to section. Not user friendly re: breakfast/lunch and just relaxing. Dining/Foodexpected better, but the service was fun and dinner was passable for decent dining. Kind of. Stateroom QualityAlthough the staff tried keep our messes to a minimum, and the original appearance of chipped paint and bad plumbing ruined this part of the experience. Ship Staff QualityI wish the rating was separate for the staff as opposed to managment. The variety of nationality and culture and overall friendliness was great, but the people in charge gave you the feeling that you were an inconvenience to them instead of an asset. Entertainment & ActivitiesLowsy shows, decent but overall cheesey comics. luckily we bring our own enterainment whereever we go or I would have been greatly dissappointed.

Grand Turk IslandMargaritaville is fun, but expensive. Had more fun meeting locals at the Pirates Rum Bar right off of the Margaritaville beach. Better music, more personable and cheaper prices! Got a pitcher of some very good Sangria for $20. Bigger than bars at home! Met good people and got a $10 cab tour of the beat up island city. Better than blowing $$$ on a mediocre snorkel excursion sponsored by 'the fun ship'.
Don't Miss: The Coral Reefs or hanging with locals if you can handle friendly people that speak a mix of Creole, Haitian, English, and Spanish. Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)Must See: The Beach and Swimming. Call me old fashion, but I don't need anything more than a quiet day, clear blue water, white sand, hot weather and staff running all over bring buckets of beer to my beach seat sitting on the edge of the ocean. The grillout food was the best lunch I had sponsored by the 'fun ship'.
Don't Miss: The beach...take it easy. Nassau, BahamasStraw Market is hot as hell, but the cheapest pricing. The rest is ghetto and boring. Maybe I was too hung over.
Don't Miss: Straw Market if you cant get into Atlantis. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  First time cruisers by
Amyw from Brunswick, MD Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: Not having to drive anywhere, the employees of the ship & the ports of call Cons: Nassau This was a wonderful vacation filled with as little or as much as you wanted to do. We loved it and plan on doing it again as soon as we can. Ship QualityVery clean, no trash anywhere. the staff was always cleaning something. Dining/FoodThe food was awesome! Fruits, salads, seafood, desserts, steak, grilles, chinese, sushi...something for everyones taste and noeone went hungry. Stateroom QualityWONDERFUL! Our steward cleaned our roon twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, then turned down the bed at night with a towel animal every night. We choose a balcony size room, anything smaller would not have been good. The rooms were really small on the inside of the ship. Ship Staff QualityWe met a casino host that followed us around the ship and joined in the fun of picking on my husband...lol. Everyone was always willing to help, very friendly. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe had a showgirls and comedy show each night of the cruise. We stopped to see a little of both. Awesome! Bingo, hairiest chest contest, talent contest, blackjack tournement & slot tournement to name a few. Stevie Wonder made a guest appearance on our cruise during the talent contest!!!

Grand Turk IslandClear geenish-teal waters called our name to snorel and swim. We also shopped in a few of the islands shops available to the cruiseline.
Don't Miss: Margaritaville Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)This is a private island owned by Carnival Cruiselines and we we transports by smaller boats to the island for a wonderful day of powdery sand and clear waters. They brought crew members to the island as well and cooked lunch for us a BBQ. No shopping on this island.
Don't Miss: Small Bahamian church, horseback riding Nassau, BahamasThis was not one of my favorite island in the Bahamas. Very commercialized and busy. We bought an excursion to snorkel for gold in Blackbeard's Adventure, which took us to a private island. That was awesome! You are not really snorkeling for real gold but if you do find one of "their gold bags" you win a prize in Nassau.
Don't Miss: Blackbeard's Adventure, swimming with stingrays 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

A Traveler from philly,pa Sailing date: May 2009Pros: Comedian acts Cons: drinks were soooo expensive I just went on this cruise for my 21st birthday and everything was great, the staff, the food, the people. I didnt want to go home. Ship QualityEverything was cleanly. The only thing was I couldnt find any trash cans on the whole ship. Dining/Foodfood was excellent. Waiters really went out of there way to serve you. Stateroom QualityThe beds were very comfy. I definetly got what I paid for. Ship Staff QualityThe staff was probably my favorite. They were so nice and accomidating. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe shows were great, especially the comedians. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
