A excellent cruise by
Evelyn M from IVA, SC Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: The shows were great Cons: Smokers needed to have a designated floor level and outdoors around the decks, mu husband has COPD and we couldn't escape the smell of smoke around our cabin level We were on the Carnival Liberty, from start to finish everything was organized. There were helpful people waiting for us at the airport and once arriving at the ship we were treated like "ROYALITY." This was my husband first cruise and he asked me how does our cabin steward know us by name. Needless to say that personal touch scored big with my husband he gave our cabin steward a extra little something something in his envelope.... Ship Quality
Dining/FoodOur waiter staff was outstanding, they made sure we were happy with our food and if not they would do whatever it took to please us. Every speciality was explained to us. We also gave them a little extra something something in their envelopes Stateroom Quality

Carnival Liberty was a great ship! by
Marilyn S from Jackson, MI Sailing date: Sep 2009I felt that the Liberty was a great ship. Everything was bright and colorful. It had lots of lights and glitter. Our stateroom was very spacious and well maintained. We spent alot of time out looking around. It has lots to offer. There was a wide variety for dining and also for pleasure. We enjoyed the dining area for evenings as well as our servers. The food choices were great. Lots of chairs around the pools and on deck. Couldn't ask for more. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodLots of great choices. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityMost everyone was very helpful. Our room stewards were great. I truly enjoyed coming home everynight to a new towel pet in our room. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe Liberty dancers were great. The shows were wonderful. We also enjoyed the
music in the Piano Bar nightly with Duane. He made our trip!!! 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Carnival Liberty Cruise by
Dayna K. from Des Moines, IA Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: I loved Carnival's private island - it was perfect. Cons: Waiting in lines for food. This was an excellent cruise with plenty of activities to choose from. Ship QualityThe pools were small and the deck area congested. I was also surprised that there were not more places to sit on the open decks. Overall the ship was very clean and well-maintained. Dining/FoodThe dining room meals and service was excellent. Emiles, the buffet style dining was very congested during meal times - rather than stations with different foods - you had to wait in line whether you wanted a salad, desert, or hot food. Stateroom QualityGreat room and very clean. Ship Staff QualityAll helpful, friendly, and excellent. Entertainment & ActivitiesSometimes cheesy but that is also part of the fun. Good variety.

Grand Turk IslandThis was a surprising disappointment. Closest beach was crowded, rocky, and grassy. Shopping area resemembed a big discount shopping complex - without much character. We walked all the way to the end of Governor's beach and just enjoyed relaxing.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)The beach was perfect.
San Juan, Puerto RicoVery historic city. The fort is very interesting. If you enjoy shopping and walking hills this would be good - we are beach bums so we just appreciated Old San Juan's unique character by walking the streets.
Charlotte Amalie, St. ThomasMagen's Bay Beach was great - grabbed a taxi off the pier for 8/pp and went straight to beach for day. Taxi's easy to catch back to the boat.
Don't Miss: We only went to the beach. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  A very nice time by
Lisa M from Erie, PA Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: food was fabulous, our waiter was the best Cons: size of pools This was our first cruise and it was very nice. We all had a great time and would certainly do it again Ship Qualitythe size of the ship is just overwhelming, however, once you walk around and look at the maps(posted at every elevator) it is very easy to understand and find your way. All areas of the ship were clean and well taken care of Dining/Foodwe sat in the main dining room every night. I wish we would have signed up for the "anytime" dining because sometimes we were not really ready to eat at 6pm...but besides that the food was fabulous, our water was great, always thinking ahead of us and always willing to do whatever it took to make the kids happy! Stateroom QualityEveryone kept saying how "little" the rooms would be..I thought they were just perfect. Plenty of room to get around and a couch to relax on. Always cleaned (twice a day) Very comfortable Ship Staff QualityWe did not run into anyone that was not friendly. Everyone went out of their way to help us, even if it was just a friendly "hello. Our steward was always asking how our day went, how our meal was and always called us by our name...very nice! Entertainment & ActivitiesWe loved the entertainment..we went to the main show every night but one (because we were at a party the ship was having)

George Town, Grand CaymanWwe went to the Turtle Farm (that is what the kids wanted to do)..it turned out to be very interesting and very nice. we also stopped at 7 mile beach, very nice. And did a little shopping (thought the prices were a little high here)
Ocho Rios, JamaicaAt this port we went shopping, because we have been to Jaimaca before. We did do Dunn's River ffalls in the past and it was great! We also visited Jimmy Buffet's margaaritaville...nice! We did not eat anywhere here
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, HondurasDid not seem to be alot of excursions to pick from..we went to the beach. This was very nice, we had our own tor guide

My first Cruise to be Remembered by
A Traveler from St. Louis, MO Sailing date: May 2009Pros: The actvities and people I met Cons: The bathroom tissue and the unstructured childrens program From the moment you step on the ship you will be relaxed, amazed, and excited all at once. There are friendly crew members, plenty of food, excessive cleanliness, and activities galore. I was impressed and hope that future cruises are as amazing as the Liberty. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodTHe wait staff was perfect and the food was non stop and great. The variety was excellent. Stateroom QualityThere were 4 of us in a room and we made it worked just fine. Ship Staff QualityOf the more than 1200 crew members, there was only 1 member that was less than friendly. Perfect customer service every time. Entertainment & ActivitiesAwesome shows and activiites. Children's ProgramsWith few children the activities were limited and unstructured.

George Town, Grand CaymanJust be prepared for the heat. There are also chickens walking around in the streets.
Ocho Rios, JamaicaDunn River Falls. Climb the waterfall. Pay for a local to take you safely up the fall for about $10. Visit dolphin cove for a dolphin encounter. The Shark encounter looked like more fun.
Don't Miss: DunnRiver Falls 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Fun even without Jamaica by
Gail A. from Providence, RI Sailing date: Jan 2009Pros: Watching Superbowl on Lido deck on giant TV! Cons: Food was lukewarm Ship was clean and crew was very helpful. Room was adequate with more than enough room for clothes - wish shower had more than a curtain but bathroom was good sized. Verandah was great to have as usual - still hoping to find a ship with full sides to verandah for more privacy though. Main restaurant very helpful changing our table to one for two people - everyone did a great job. Menu choices were varied and delicious, although most were luke warm when they arrived at the table. All in all a great ship with great crew! Ship Quality

Cozumel, MexicoWent horseback riding for the first time here (have been to Cozumel and number of times) and had a great time although the Mayan ruins were just ONE ruin which they had turned into a chapel of sorts - but the ride was terrific!
George Town, Grand CaymanMother Nature was against us and we had to tender away from downtown. We couldn't go swim with the stingrays, so we went to the 7-mile beach for awhile which was fun, but windy. Had lunch right there and enjoyed the day even without our planned activity.
Don't Miss: Stingray city - had been there before and wanted to see again! 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Wonderful Getaway! by
Pat D from Long Island, New York Sailing date: Feb 2009Pros: Itinerary Cons: Layout of the ship This was our second Carnival cruise, the Liberty, having cruised the Triumph in 1999, 12th cruise overall. We needed a getaway from the stresses of work and this was the right dose of medicine. We liked the itinerary but most importantly the three days at sea. No schedules, no rushing into port, just plain relaxation. We always felt that cruising is the best value for the money. Getting on the ship was a breeze. However, we had an early flight home and were given #31 for getting off the ship, the second to last. Passengers with later flights had numbers before us. We had to scramble to catch our flight home. Ship QualityWe did not like the layout of the ship at all. You could not get from front to back without going up and over or under and through. We never got it right even at the last day. Very frustrating. The decor was a little bit too gaudy for me. All public areas were clean. Keeping children under the age of 16 in the hot tubs was not enforced and I got into two altercations with parents who did not read the rules posted on the wall who dropped their kids off and left. At one time there were 8 little kids and 4 adults in one hot tub. One kid was diving under the water. I finally went to the security guard who didn't know what I was talking about. Children have no business in a hot tub. It's not enjoyable for adults. Dining/FoodYou can't go hungry on a cruise. There is something for everyone at any time or place. We had the Total Choice option, even though we were booked for Early Dining. It turned out to be better because you went to the dining room when you wanted. We even had a table for two. The food was okay. Stateroom QualityWe had an oceanview room which was quite bigger than other cruise lines we've been on. Very comfortable bedding. Ship Staff QualityThe ship's staff was excellent. Our cabin steward kept our room immaculate. Wait staff in the dining room very courteous. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe couldn't keep up with all the activities on board. The shows were excellent and professional.

San Juan, Puerto RicoIn San Juan we took the tour of some sights of the city and then to see Juan Carlos and his flamenco show. He was absolutely fabulous! Don't miss it. We've been to San Juan before and our tour allowed us to walk around the city for awhile.
Charlotte Amalie, St. ThomasWe've been to St. Thomas before but we took a tour to Megan's Bay, a world famous beach, but mother Nature didn't cooperate. It rained and we didn't get a chance to swim.
Philipsburg, St. MaartenWe've also been to St. Maarten before and it is our favorite port. We were supposed to go on a catamaran tour, but it was too windy and all water tours were cancelled. We went to a hotel and relaxed on the beach but we couldn't stay too long because of the wind. Then we went by water taxi to Philipsburg, had a drink at a beachside bar and walked around town.
